How To Peel a Chestnut
There are many forums and opinions as to the best way to peel a chestnut. The method below is one I found to be quite easy.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Lie chestnut on a cutting board on its flat side.
With a paring knife, score a cross on the dome side of the chestnut – ideally through the skin but not the nut.
Place scored chestnuts on a baking tray and bake in oven for about 15-20 minutes.
Once done, you will notice that the skin has peeled back making it quite simple to remove the nut.
